Trump Vows Big Development With Abortions with New Policy

Former President Trump promised he would seek to reduce the number of abortions by introducing a new policy to promote adoptions.

Trump Gave Pro-Life the ‘Upper Hand’

In June 2022, the United States Supreme Court killed the 1973 Roe ruling that allowed unbridled abortion nationwide.

In a new interview with “Just the News, No Noise,” a TV show, during the NRB (“National Religious Broadcasters”) convention in Orlando, Trump insisted he would keep up the fight against abortion with new politics and tactics.

Trump, so far, maintains a sizable double-digit lead over his competitors in the race for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination.

In the interview, Trump emphasized that his remake of the Supreme Court through the appointment of conservative justices allowed the pro-life movement to gain the “upper hand” on the abortion issue after the Dobbs ruling, Just the News reports.

He argued that “incentivizing adoptions” would reduce the number of aborted infants substantially. POTUS 45 stressed that if he won the 2024 presidential election, he would “press the adoption option.”

Exceptions ‘For Moral Reasons’

Trump reiterated his stance that he is against abortion, but thinks that women who are victims of incest or rape should be allowed to end pregnancies resulting from the said crimes.

He emphasized his conviction that rape and incest exceptions in abortion bans are “very important” for a wide range of reasons, including moral and political ones.

The former president dwelled on the fact that a hardliner stance on abortion excluding any exceptions would make it “very hard” to score a victory in the 2024 presidential election.

Yet, Trump also insisted that rape and incest exceptions from abortion prohibitions should be kept in place primarily for “moral reasons.”

POTUS 45 further pointed out that it was he who practically ended Roe v. Wade by securing a conservative majority on the SCOTUS bench.
