Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is a rising star in the Republican party.
It’s no exaggeration to say he could be the next Trump. And even if Trump runs again in 2024, DeSantis is sure to play a leading role in the future of the conservative movement and resistance to the progressive police state.
He recently passed a law banning violent mobs in Florida and severely increasing penalties on mobs who do go berserk, and now he’s also speaking out about the Derek Chauvin trial.
Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer, was found guilty of three charges and the killing of George Floyd in a recent verdict delivered by jury in Minneapolis.
However, DeSantis is not sure that justice was served.
In recent comments on Fox News, DeSantis opened up about his views on the trial and its outcome, stating that when a violent mob is making threats it can negatively impact the ability of a jury to reach a fair conclusion.
‘I Don’t Know What Happened With This Verdict’
It’s important to note that DeSantis didn’t actually say the jury was wrong in its verdict. What he did was simply raise the very real chance that the jury voted guilty because it was “scared of what a mob may do.”
After months of media insanity and BLM and Antifa threats, DeSantis is clearly correct that there was a climate of fear and threatening behavior surrounding the Chauvin trial.
It’s not a question that Chauvin’s behavior was wrong, the question before the jury was whether he had committed a crime and was guilty of murdering Floyd. And there was evidence on both sides of that argument, although the jury ultimately came back with the conclusion that Chauvin was guilty on all counts.
Appearing on Fox News, DeSantis responded to a clip of an anonymous man talking before the trial was over. The BLM supporter was saying that if Chauvin walked they would burn America to the ground.
“I don’t know what happened with this verdict, but if that’s something that can potentially happen, where you basically have justice made meted out because the jury is scared of what a mob may do? And again I’m not saying that’s what happened here, but that speaker seemed to suggest that that had an impact, that’s completely antithetical to the rule of law,” DeSantis said.

Protecting America from the Mob
As mentioned, DeSantis’ new anti-riot bill in Florida shows that the governor isn’t just talk: he also walks the walk. He’s putting his foot down and standing up leftist bullies who think they can destroy the rule of law in this Republic and get their way through intimidation and blackmail.
“I think what we’ve done with our bill, our anti-riot bill, is saying, you engage with that you’re going to jail, you’re not going to gain by doing that, we’re going to maintain law and order. But certainly to think that somehow that is going to influence how the rule of law is applied, it would be a total disaster if that idea takes hold,” DeSantis said of his bill.
Florida’s new law takes aim at those who break down status and monuments and makes it a felony and it also gives legal immunity to anyone who drives through a crowd of protesters who are blocking roadways.
In addition, you can’t post bail if you’re arrested in a riot until you have your first court date.
Translation? Don’t right in Florida unless you want your butt in jail and maximum consequences.
