In what appears to be a last-ditch effort, Rep. Liz Cheney mobilized her father, former VP Dick Cheney, to help her ahead of the Wyoming GOP primary.
The neoconservative former vice president appeared in a brief video, vehemently attacking President Trump as a “coward” and the greatest “threat” to US democracy.
The RINO is Failing Wyoming’s GOP Primary
Rep. Liz Cheney emerged as a fiercely anti-Trump Republican since she became one of the ten GOP members of the House to vote in favor of the then-president’s impeachment in January 2021.
Trump has repeatedly blasted Cheney as a RINO (“Republican in Name Only”). In Wyoming’s Republican primary for Cheney’s seat on August 16, Trump backed her rival, Harriet Hageman.
A poll at the end of July by the Casper-Star Tribune showed the incumbent Cheney trailing Hageman by more than 20 points; the former is backed by 30% of the GOP voters in the state vs. 52% for the latter.
With the Trump pick as the clear favorite, Cheney has now resorted to bringing back into public life her father, Dick Cheney.
Dick Cheney is the former Secretary of Defense under President George H.W. Bush and former vice president under President George W. Bush.

Your dad is a war criminal, @Liz_Cheney. You may as well get an endorsement from Emperor Palpatine himself. The resemblance is uncanny… https://t.co/eLVvpGEubn pic.twitter.com/rm17l2Vlmg

Trump is ‘No Real Man,’ According to Dick Cheney
81-year-old Dick Cheney appeared in a minute-long video shared by his daughter on her Twitter profile; he attacked President Trump in the strongest of terms.
The former neoconservative veep not only called Trump a “coward,” but also claimed POTUS 45 has been the “biggest threat” to the American republic in the country’s history.
Dick Cheney claimed Trump “tried to steal” the previous presidential election by using “lies and violence” after he had been defied by the voters.
The former vice president based his allegation that Trump is a “coward” on the proposition that “a real man” just “wouldn’t lie” to those who support him.
According to Cheney, the reality is POTUS 45 “lost” the 2020 presidential election and he even “lost big.” He claimed further that Trump is aware of his loss and “deep down,” so are “most Republicans.”
George W. Bush’s veep then went on to declare how proud he and his wife are of their daughter Liz; in their view, she has been doing the right thing and defending “the truth.”
Dick Cheney’s emergence from retirement, however, quickly riled up critics of him and his daughter. The critics were quick to remind him of his role in the 2003 Invasion of Iraq, which drained enormous amounts of US resources.
In his latest comments on Liz Cheney, on July 4, President Trump called her a “despicable human” and argued she is hated by the people of her own state.
For the time being, it remains unclear whether Dick Cheney’s anti-Trump outburst may have any electoral impact in favor of his daughter.
Who is this FAKE COWBOY hanging around in the forest? It's DICK CHENEY. Wow! What a weird "commercial" — he's busting on Trump. Am I the ONLY one who remembers Cheney's BLOOD LUST for OIL and WAR? And how about those "WMDs"??? pic.twitter.com/2ckf2DQa1m
