Poll: Supermajority of Americans Oppose Biden Running For Reelection

With the midterm election season ending, much more attention is going to be directed to the 2024 presidential election.

There’s still a lot of uncertainty about whether or not Biden is going to run. Many questions are also in the air about which Republicans are going to run for the GOP nomination in 2024.

On multiple occasions, Biden has hinted at a run for a second term in 2024. Though it’s something he’s gone back and forth on, showing he may be uncertain about his plans to run for office.

However, a brand new poll shows that nearly two-thirds of the country isn’t in favor of Biden running for another term, according to Breitbart News.

Bad News For Biden

An exit poll by CBS News shows that 66% of Americans don’t want the president going for a second term; whereas only 30% of Americans believe Biden should go for another four years in the White House.

Another poll showed that just only four out of ten Democrats are in favor of Joe Biden running for reelection. This speaks volumes, as one would expect support for the president to be stronger within his own party.

Some Democrats have been coming around to the idea that Biden is more of a drag on the Democrat Party, due to his low approval ratings. This was noticed during the midterm elections, as some Democrats with tight races tried to keep from being seen with the president.

Moving on From Biden?

Additional details from the CBS News exit poll showed that 54% of the country views Biden unfavorably. By contrast, only 43% of Americans have a favorable view of the current president.

These aren’t exactly strong data points for a candidate who is seeking reelection. Furthermore, being underwater in favorability opens up Biden to being potentially primaried by someone in his party who has a little less baggage.

During this year alone, there’s also been more talk about the need for generational change in political leaders across the board. This, too, could work against Biden if he chooses to go through with a presidential run during the next election cycle.

Ultimately, it is Democrats who will have the final say as to whether or not they chose to nominate Biden, should he run for a second term. As it stands today though, the possibility of the president being able to win another general election is highly questionable, at best.

On both sides of the aisle, many Americans would like to see new blood moving into leadership positions.

What do you make of this new poll showing that most folks across the nation don’t actually want Biden running for yet another presidential term? You are more than welcome to share your thoughts with us in the comments area.
