New York Times Criticizes Democrats’ Messaging on Inflation

If there’s one thing Democrats would love to go away, it’s not inflation, but conversations about inflation.

This doesn’t bode well for left-wing candidates who are trying to win House and Senate seats. After all, the nation’s present inflation crisis happened on the watch of Democrats controlling both chambers of Congress.

Now, Democrats are hard-pressed to convince Americans they should remain in power, despite all the chaos that’s occurred on their watch.

Inflation is going to keep playing a major role in the midterms. In fact, as Democrats try to duck the issue, even the New York Times is admitting the party needs to get ahead of this, per Breitbart News.

A Clear Message From the New York Times

Writers of the Times recently expressed that it would be in Democrats’ best interests to “switch tacks” on how they’re approaching inflation and the current economy.

The Times went on to point out that in-party disputes about how to address inflation (or whether to address it at all) is hurting Democrats as a whole.

Some Democrats, therefore, are opting not to talk about inflation at all because they think doing so will be advantageous to the GOP.

Though while Democrats try to steer clear of this issue, Americans are reminded everyday about the negative ramifications of sky-high prices. The left’s desire to shy away from this issue doesn’t make it any less real for everyday folks.

Republicans, on the other hand, are making sure that inflation is regularly discussed and talked about. Polling shows this matter is one that voters are giving priority to as they plan to head to the polls.

The Bottom Line

Democrats are very scared to talk about inflation for one simple reason: their policies and spending proposals are the catalysts of inflation.

Before passing bills like the Inflation Reduction Act and American Rescue Plan, Democrats were repeatedly warned what they were doing would cause problems. The left didn’t listen, instead just insisting that Republicans were holding up progress.

It remains to be seen whether or not any Democrats heed the warning from the New York Times. Thus far, it’s not something the American people should count on.

Democrats, time and time again, ignored previous advice when they thought it was to their benefit. At the rate things are going, the most likely outcome is for Democrats to keep ignoring inflation and then lose badly during next month’s elections.

On the bright side, this will mean Republicans can finally start undoing damages caused by the Biden administration, while stopping any more harm from passing.
