Earlier this month, the world learned about a leak of top-secret documents with high-level information. This leak raises national security concerns, along with concerns pertaining to the larger world stage.
Right now, there is still a lot that we don’t know about this breach of data. However, we can be sure that it poses a danger to potentially our own government officials, Ukraine, and others.
Now, brand new information is coming out about the alleged person behind the leak, as documented by Fox News.
The Latest Updates
Based on data that’s being revealed, the person behind this high-level leak is thought to be a 20-something-year-old man who is employed on a US military base. As it currently stands, the running theory is this man got ahold of the information within these records and then shared it on Discord.
The Discord leak says there is a total of *29* U.S. DOD personnel in Ukraine, including the Marines guarding the embassy, staff of the Defense Attaché office, and personnel of the office of defense cooperation. Boots on the ground it ain’t.

So far, it appears as though this person successfully covered their online footprint. The only confirmed name that’s been attached to the believed leaker is “OG.” Apparently, “OG” also got his hands on and leaked a ton of other sensitive information.
Reports moreover suggest that OG is not a foreign spy, nor is this person someone with malice towards the US government. It is believed that his motivation for leaking documents was to keep people informed.
Many More Questions Ahead
Thus far, the information that’s coming out about the suspected leaker still leaves many more questions. The military base where “OG” is thought to have worked hasn’t been named.
Discord Leak smells like another poorly run CIA counter-intel op.
None of the contents in the leak are truly damaging to US interests. More likely to be disinformation intended to influence Russia's military.

It’s also unclear what other people on Discord who received classified intel may do with it. This opens the door to more potential leaks of a similar nature happening.
All in all, there’s just a lot we don’t know yet. Nevertheless, it appears that US government officials are very much interested in getting to the bottom of this situation.
