Rep. Liz Cheney has been adamant in her view that Trump is a danger to democracy and shouldn’t hold power.
Before losing her primary election in Wyoming last month, Cheney said defending the nation’s Constitution is more meaningful to her than holding onto her House seat.
Even after her primary loss, the outgoing Wyoming congresswoman isn’t backing down or changing her tune on Trump. During a recent CNN interview, Cheney again reiterated her thoughts about the 45th president and various allegations against him.
This time, her remarks deal with different claims made about Trump in a new book, according to Breitbart News.
The Latest From Cheney on Trump
While speaking with CNN, Cheney responded to a new book that argues Trump didn’t plan to leave the White House after the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.
Cheney noted that some people may argue this didn’t pose a danger because had this happened, the Supreme Court would have sorted it out.

However, the Wyoming Republican pushed back on this, stating the notion of a president refusing to leave the White House would force America into “no man’s land.”
Later, Cheney told CNN she wasn’t at all surprised about the allegations this book makes about Trump. In the congresswoman’s own words, it simply affirms the existence of danger and creates a need for others to step and take some responsibility.
What’s Next For Liz Cheney?
Considering Cheney’s time in Congress is coming to an end, there are many speculations about what the outgoing lawmaker will wind up doing next.
Cheney, for her part, has been clear that she’s going to do everything in her power to ensure Trump never gets back into the White House.
This pledge alone has led to speculations that Cheney may end up joining a Never Trump political group of sorts. Many Americans have also projected that Cheney could wind up getting some kind of media gig.

Either way it goes, the congresswoman is widely anticipated to have some form of involvement in politics, even once she’s out of Congress.
Cheney’s latest remarks on CNN have predictably generated negative responses from Americans who support the former president and remain skeptical of various allegations against him.
Trump supporters subsequently made their grievances with Cheney’s assertions known via Twitter.
Thus far, Trump has not issued a public rebuttal to Cheney’s statements about him in her latest CNN interview. However, this could very well change in the days ahead to come.
