TIME magazine has a long tradition of choosing the most remarkable person of the year and putting them on the cover of their magazine each year. They’ve done it since 1927 when they started it as “man of the year.”

Exactly nobody was surprised this year when TIME named Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as its “Person of the Year.”

Why Did TIME Pick Joe and Kamala?

Although they did not explain about how two people are a “person,” the author of the piece on the Person of the Year Charlotte Alter wrote that Biden and Harris represent a return to normalcy after years of “Hurricane Trump” had rampaged across America “chewing up norms and spitting them out.”

According to Alter: “Biden believed most voters simply wanted reconciliation after four years of combat, that they craved decency, dignity, experience and competence.”

Without passing up the chance to include a racist and discriminatory remark related to age, Alter also wrote that having Harris on the ticket provides:

“a 78-year-old white man could never provide: generational change, a fresh perspective, and an embodiment of America’s diversity.”

In addition to being insulting to value someone more as a “token” because of their skin tone, Alter’s comment shows just how nasty and prejudiced some progressives have become, judging people by their race and age and treating minorities as props.

The Liberal Mainstream Media

TIME has a history of letting its liberal colors fly proudly, naming climate change teen activist Greta Thunberg as its Person of the Year in 2019 and previously naming figures including Barack Obama.

Trump supporters were not impressed by the magazine’s pick and Biden and Harris didn’t comment in the immediate release of the cover.

Apparently all you have to do to be a person of the year for leading American magazines is say nice things and come out to issue statements every week or two.

TIME on Biden and Harris: ‘Healing in a Grieving World’

Continuing in the progressive narrative, Time’s editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal also commented on the choice of Joe and Kamala by saying they deserve praise “for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division” and “for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world.”

Do these people read their own writing?

It is unclear exactly what “healing” and “vision” a Biden-Harris administration is offering to the country other than blaming President Trump for all the problems the country is facing and giving him none of the credit for his leadership.

These kind of propagandistic op-eds are exactly the reason that so many independent and Republican voters strongly distrust the mainstream media and believe it is partisan, activist propaganda.

Mask Off

Past TIME people of the year include Adolf Hitler in 1938, Joseph Stalin in 1939 (and 1942) and Iran’s late Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979. The magazine notes that the person of the year is not necessarily an endorsement but is just about who had the biggest impact on the world in that year. It has also previously picked figures like Winston Churchill, Gandhi, Dwight Eisenhower and Charles de Gaulle.

In 2016 when the magazine named President Donald Trump its person of the year, a profile by Michael Scherer called Trump a “huckster,” “cable news addict,” and someone who “validated racists and misogynists.”

The double standard is incredible.

TIME magazine should understand that people are not stupid. When it uses enthusiastic words of praise for Biden and Harris it’s obviously a full-on endorsement. It appears that the liberal media is breaking coronavirus restrictions and is no longer wearing any mask at all.
