Disney used to be something special. It presented kids with magical worlds full of heroes and villains where they could go on epic adventures.
Now Disney is just another large, woke American corporation. It turns a blind eye to working in communist China near concentration camps but absolutely freaks out at the slightest politically incorrect word or image.
Their firing of Mandalorian star Gina Carano for being a conservative is just one example, but it’s important because in doing so Disney tipped their hand and showed exactly how prejudiced they are against the right.
Now Disney CEO Bob Chapek has opened up about why she was fired.
And it’s complete nonsense.
‘It’s Clear That There’s a New Blacklist for Conservatives’
Chapek’s answer came during Disney’s annual meeting of shareholders that was recently held online. A shareholder said that “it’s clear that there’s a new blacklist for conservatives in the entertainment industry” and asked Chapek why Carano was fired when another Disney star who tweeted Nazi allegories had no issues.
Why the double standard?
Chapek said: “I don’t really see Disney characterizing itself as left leaning or right leaning. We are instead standing for values. Values that are universal. Values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity and values of inclusion. And we seek to have not only how we operate but the content that we make reflective of the rich diversity of the world we live in. And I think that’s a world that we all should live in in harmony and peace. Thank you for your question. Next question, please.”
Can this guy hear himself speak?
It’s incredible what otherwise intelligent and successful people will convince themselves is true. It’s also sad that Chapek seems to think his answer will actually satisfy anyone concerned over the firing of Carano.
Disney Plus star Pedro Pascal tweeted a Nazi metaphor to describe the Trump Administration detaining children at the US border and faced zero consequences. Carano tweeted a Nazi metaphor to say we should stop hating and dehumanizing each other for our political opinions.
Pascal implied that conservatives are murderous Nazis. Carano said to stop hating people.
Guess who got fired? Exactly.

Carano Has Words With Disney
For her part, Carano has expressed the climate at Disney and it certainly sounds like she was targeted for being conservative and not following the “narrative.” What is the narrative? You already know: far-left progressive extremism.
As Carano said:
“I’m watching people on the same production and they can say everything they want, and that’s where I had a problem. I had a problem because I wasn’t going along with the narrative.”
Carano said it was so bad that she knew she could easily be dropped at any time for not being a leftie.
“I was prepared at any point to be let go because I’ve seen this happen to so many people. I’ve seen the looks on their faces. I’ve seen the bullying that takes place, and so when this started, they point their guns at you, and you know it’s only a matter of time. I’ve seen it happen to so many people, and I just thought to myself, ‘you’re coming for me, I know you are.’ They’re making it very obvious through their employees who were coming for me, and so I was like, ‘I’m going to go down swinging and I’m going to stay true to myself,'” she said.
Good for Carano for sticking to her guns. Let’s hope her upcoming film with the Daily Wire is a success and shows Disney the mistake they made in letting such a strong talent go.
