Buzzfeed News Finally Shuts Down!

If you’ve been wondering why you haven’t seen something along the lines of “Top 10 things we could learn from dolphins” in your ads recently, it’s because the parent company of woke propaganda outlet BuzzFeed finally shut down.

As you may already know, BuzzFeed News didn’t just focus on dealing with the most obsolete Top 10 lists one could imagine. They’re also the ones to have published the infamous Steele dossier and now, they’re finally out of the picture.

Era of woke propaganda comes to an end as BuzzFeed News shuts down operations

CEO Jonah Peretti explained the website was only part of a much greater shakeup in the company, as more than 15% of all their staffers worldwide have been let go.

Seeing as BuzzFeed Inc. also owns news outlets like HuffPost and Complex Networks, we could easily see both of those burning up in a dumpster fire just as well.

Peretti wrote a memo regarding the upcoming change, titled “Difficult News”, claiming the company doesn’t have the resources to keep funding BuzzFeed News anymore as a standalone organization.

That being said, the news content from the now-defunct website will now be published as a single news brand in HuffPost. HuffPost has retained profitability for the time being, at least as long as they’ve got a loyal audience, which can change in a heartbeat.

Pulitzer Prize couldn’t save BuzzFeed News

The majority of the 180 staffers who were laid off are part of NewsGuild, a workers union in New York that they joined back in 2019. The union’s president Susan DeCarava expressed her concerns for their future.

The group helped sign a contract for the BuzzFeed News workers, ensuring they wouldn’t be left without compensation, should a sudden layoff occur; although there’s already talk of some staffers being re-hired by the company.

However, the shakeup was enough to convince more than a few executive position holders to abandon ship, including the company’s CRO Edgar Hernandez and COO Christian Baesler.

On top of announcing BuzzFeed News is finally gone, Peretti also assured that none of the jobs lost will be replaced by AI; although you probably won’t even notice even if the company does implement the technology.

The main takeaway here is we’ll no longer be subjected to the absurd content BuzzFeed decided to call “news” for years on end. Liberal media has taken a hit that will hopefully be only one of many to come.
