Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for the ouster or resignation of Merrick Garland, President Joe Biden’s attorney general. That is because of the Justice Department’s prosecution of a meme maker supporting President Donald Trump.
Persecution of Trump Supporters
33-year-old Florida resident Douglass Mackey, whose profile on Twitter is named “Ricky Vaughn, is presently on trial for “conspiring” with “online trolls” in order to post memes that would trick Americans.
This more specifically deals with supporters of Democratic heavyweight Hillary Clinton into not voting in the 2016 presidential election.
According to Sleepy Joe’s Justice Department, which is spearheaded by known leftist Merrick Garland, by posting memes, Mackey “crossed the line” between free speech and criminal activity.
Earlier this week, the meme maker’s lawyer, Andrew Frisch, declared before a federal jury in Brooklyn, New York that Mackey was never trying to deceive anybody out of their voting rights.
The attorney said his client was only trying to “go viral” by using his online influence and the tens of thousands of followers he had in order to disrupt the game of his political targets.
Frisch emphasized the meme maker did not really have any “grand plan” to conspire against voting rights, Yahoo News reported.
Ahead of the 2016 election, Mackey tweeted what is described as “fake ads” for the Clinton presidential campaigns. One of them featured a black woman and another was written in Spanish.
The memes contained a text message number that called upon people to “vote from home” and vote by text, thus “avoid(ing) the line.”
The political prosecution of Douglass Mackey should terrify every single American.
His “crime?” Meme-posting.

GOP Lawmaker Infuriated
Greene of Georgia has been particularly outraged by the charges and trial of pro-Trump meme maker Douglass Mackey.
This is so much so that she sent a special letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, ripping him and his department over how Mackey has been treated, The Tampa Free Press reported.
Greene demanded that Garland resign right away – or alternatively, he should be impeached for cracking down on freedom of speech by targeting the meme maker.
An infuriated Greene emphasized that the prosecution of Douglass Mackey represented yet another case in which the Biden administration is destroying Americans’ rights and freedoms.
If the First Amendment means anything, it means that what's happening to Douglass Mackey is an outrage. It should end immediately. pic.twitter.com/wX52zIw9mJ

On WHAT planet is it just to try and put a man in jail for 10 years over a meme of Hillary Clinton ?
Douglass Mackey is 33 years old. It's not his fault his TWITTER account was more politically influential than CBS News.
